Oct 23, 2008 - Playoff Criteria
- Beginning with the 2009 spring season there will no longer be a 1st and 2nd half to each season.
- The top four teams in each division {with standings} will have a single game elimination play off to determine the division winner. The teams that play each other during the regular season will be the teams included in the division.
- 1st place will play 4th place and 2nd place will play 3rd place.
- The winners of those games will play each other for the championship.
- In the event there is a tie for 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place, the teams will be determined by a coin toss. In the event the tie is for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, the loser will drop down one place and still be in the playoffs. In the event the tie is for 4th place, the loser of the coin flip will be eliminated from the playoffs.
- All standings to determine the teams eligible for the playoffs will be based on the best winning percentage on the last day of the season as determined by the scheduling director. Any games played after the last day of the regular season and before the first day of the playoffs will not be counted toward the standings to determine the playoff seedings.
- There will be no variations from this format without the approval of the Executive Board. Anyone found violating or changing this procedure will be eliminated from the playoffs.
