Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

a.  Pee Wee Jr Division

Often, a family’s first introduction to Little League is in the Tee Ball program. Tee Ball is the entry level division for players League Ages 4-5. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game.

b.  Tee Ball Division

Tee Ball is the next level division for players, League Ages 5-6. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals with the addition of coach pitching while also being a key to growing a child’s skill at the game.

c. Instructional Division

Instructional division is for players League Age 7.  This is the introduction to the skills needed at each individual fielding position.  Players typically will play all positions.  This is a coach pitch division

d. Rookie Division

Rookie division is for players League Age 8.  This division continues the development of infield and outfield skills, and introduces the with the introduction of Player pitching.  Coaches are all

e. Minors Division

Minors Division is for players League Age 9-10.  This division is set up as a completely player’s game, and introduces stealing of 1st, 2nd and 3rd base.  During the games coaches will instruct from the dugout as the game is played.  This is also the first year of Williamsport/District Eligibility.

f. Majors Division

Majors Division is for players League Age 11-12.  This division is a continuation of the minors division with the added experience of next level playing rules, including Dropped 3rd Strikes, Infield Fly Rule and stealing home

g. Intermediate (50/70) Division

Intermediate is played on a slightly larger field (50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths). The rules in this division are similar to the 60/90 division (aka full baseball rules), including leading, stealing, pickoffs, and balks. It is open to League Age 12-13.

h.  Juniors (60/90) Division

Juniors is based on a regulation baseball field size (60-foot pitching distance and 90-foot base paths). In addition to the larger dimensions of this field, the rules are different from Majors — players are able to take leads and steal on the pitch, and pitchers are allowed to pick off base runners. We typically recommend that 13-14 year olds play in this division, but 12 year olds who are turning 13 next spring (before August 31, 2023) are also eligible,  as this may help them prepare for their middle school baseball teams.

Baseball games at this age may be played all or in part with other leagues and at other parks, typically Otsego in Dix Hills.

VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED!

On Requests and age groups

There are PLAYER AGENTS for each division that bear the ultimate responsibility for making teams.  All players will be placed in the appropriate age group. Team requests are welcomed in the PW and Rookie divisions, but are NOT GUARANTEED.  Due  to the limits of the number of players on a team, and multiple conflicting requests ,it is not always possible to accommodate all requests.

Players in the Minors, Majors, Intermediate, and Juniors divisions are chosen through a draft, and team managers choose the players for their teams. The draft is done to try to make teams that are balanced and help games to be competitive.  Requests to be placed on a specific team at these ages can not taken.

Part of the fun of Little League is making new friends and bonding as a team. Occasionally requests are made to have players of different ages play together, however in trying to structure fair, safe, and fun divisions, this is usually not possible.
